MUMBAI – HELSINKI

Departure to Helsinki. On Arrival at Helsinki airport, complete immigration procedure and transfer to hotel. After check in and fresh up we will take a short orientation round around Helsinki and proceed for dinner in an Indian restaurant. Night stay at HELSINKI. (FINLAND)

HELSINKI – ROVANIEMI (by Air)

After breakfast at proceed to Helsinki Airport for our onward flight to Rovaniemi – the Capital of Lapland. Rovaniemi is an urban oasis amidst the Arctic wilderness, where culture, wild activities and fairy tales come together; Rovaniemi is also the official hometown of the Santa Claus. After lunch at an Indian restaurant, we will visit the Santa Village where you can take a photo with the real Santa, visit his Post office and Santa Village situated exactly on the line of the Arctic Circle. After enjoying the different activities at the village, we will proceed to the Hotel for Check in and some leisure time. After dinner at an Indian restaurant, we will try our luck to hunt Northern Lights on foot on the river front of Kemijoki. Night stay in ROVANIEMI. (FINLAND)

ROVANIEMI SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, we will depart at 9am to visit Ranua Wildlife Park (approx. 1 hour of driving time). The drive is through beautiful snowy scenery where you can see an occasional reindeer or fox crossing the road ahead. The Ranua zoo showcases sufficiently large enclosure and related facilities designed with the needs of the Animal species in mind, as well as competent animal keepers who know the characteristics of the animal. We will see the Polar bear and almost 50 other Arctic animal species in the wilderness of the northern forest. Enjoy a tour of Ranua for around 1.5hours. Today we will enjoy a local lunch at the Wild arctic restaurant at Ranua itself and return to Rovaniemi. In the afternoon we visit the Artikum – a museum and Science centre. Later return to the Hotel for fresh up and enjoy dinner in Indian Restaurant. After dinner we can take another chance to view the Northern Lights in the night sky. Night stay at ROVANIEMI. (FINLAND)

ROVANIEMI - JUKKASJaRVI (350 kms, 6 hrs) - NARVIK

After breakfast, we board the coach at 8.30 from Rovaniemi and cross the border into Sweden on our way to Narvik. We will gain an hour as we cross into Sweden as Sweden and Norway are one hour behind Finland std time. The road is beautifully covered in snow and the daylight adds to the beauty of the surroundings. On arrival, we will have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the Ice hotel in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi on the back of Torne River. The hotel is completely made by Snice – a mixture of Snow and Ice, where the walls, floors and ceilings of the hotel are the canvases of designers from all creative disciplines. The artists and art work vary from year to year and room to room. Later in the evening, proceed to Narvik. On arrival we check in to the hotel. After dinner we shall take the Cable car and visit the Camp Lodge which is one of the best sites in Narvik to see the wonderful Northern Lights. The experience takes place in a beautiful traditional Norwegian log cabin in Narvikfjellet Ski Resort, and is designed to provide the best conditions for a comfortable and urban experience of the magical arctic light. We can never guarantee the northern lights, but we can promise beautiful views and arctic light in unique surroundings from Camp Lodge. Night stay at NARVIK. (NORWAY)

NARVIK– TROMSO – TROMSO CITY TOUR (232 kms – 3.5 hours)

After breakfast, at 8.30am we depart for Tromso, which is another top place to experience the world’s greatest phenomenon “The Northern Lights”. On arrival in Tromso, visit to Polaria Arctic Museum where we see the feeding of the bearded seals and watch a film on the melting of the ice in the Arctic’s. Check in to the hotel.

Later in the evening we will board our Northern Lights cruise which will take us away from city lights and deep in the sea. We can enjoy a local 4 course meal in the warmth of the ship as the crew explains everything about the Lights. When the lights can be viewed in the Night sky we will be informed about the same and can then don our winter gear and go to the deck and enjoy the sight. No one is quite sure when or whether this natural phenomenon will appear, but when it does it will simply take your breath away. The colours and shapes change and move, like an ever-changing work of art in an otherwise dark sky. They dance across the sky, charging forward, winding, unfolding, flaring up, and suddenly fading away – all in a wash of greens, blues, reds and purples. It’s spectacular!!

DAY 6 : REINDEER SLEDDING

After breakfast proceed to the Sami Camp where you will meet guides who come from Sami reindeer herding families who will explain about Sami Culture, Feeding of Reindeers, Lasso throwing, display of cultural artifacts and conclude with a traditional Sami song. Later we will enjoy reindeer sledding. After a traditional local Sami lunch at the camp, we return to the hotel and have some rest. In the evening, we will roam around the Tromso town before heading to an Indian restaurant for dinner. After dinner we take another opportunity to chase the Northern Lights on a Northern Lights Hunt!  The Northern Lights are famously elusive, so we ensure you maximize your chances of seeing them with this fantastic chase. We will take you to the best destination for viewing the aurora and also help you figure out your camera settings so that you can capture great images of them. Night stay at TROMSO. (NORWAY)

TROMSO – OSLO (by Air)

After breakfast departure to the Tromso Airport for your flight to Oslo. On arrival at Oslo we will enjoy a guided orientation tour of Oslo City and proceed to dinner and Check in. Night stay at OSLO. (NORWAY)
